Bigg Design won the competition to upgrade a once unsightly gas governor next to the new Perth Theatre development.
The design is a celebration of colour, rhythm and harmony and features bold abstract motifs evocative of the hills and rivers of the Perthshire countryside contrasted with the architecture of the city. It represents day and night, tranquility and vibrancy, natural and man made, and each flows into the other with a continual, circular dialogue.
Achieving the clean and crisp finish required a high level of precision and several coats of paint - challenging given our allocated painting time was over what seemed to be the wettest week of the year!
